Beachside fun

My son started pre-school this week:

It's a lovely pre-school right by the beach with lots of natural light, friendly staff, great facilities and a varied programme with a good balance between structured activities and learning through play.  He will be going five mornings a week and is in the bilingual stream so half of the morning is carried out in English and the other half in Mandarin - we learn languages much more easily in early childhood and this immersion approach is the best way to pick it up.  He is settling in well and is enjoying making new friends.

They also have a playgroup class which my daughter started this week:

She will be going two mornings a week and I stay with her for the sessions.  I am very impressed with how well organised it is with different activities every 15 mins to keep their attention, including a Mandarin slot.  The children are starting to pick it up already, he says 'ni hao' ('hello') and she tries to reply '..hao'!

We often go to the beach afterwards as it is literally just a few steps away, infact the pre-school use it as their outdoor playground!
