In celebration of World Book Day the children were invited to come to pre-school dressed up as a character from their favourite book. Robert chose to be the little brown mouse from The Gruffalo. We put together a costume using his brown t-shirt and trousers, a pair of Emily's brown tights stuffed and tied onto his belt for a tail, and an improvised mask:

Emily loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar, though I thought a butterfly outfit might be more fun to wear! She has a matching t-shirt and skirt set in Alexander Henry's Apples and Pears print made by Jimmy Riddles which made a perfect base,

and I tied her rainbow playsilk to her back to make wings:
