Today is the highlight of the
Bun Festival on Cheung Chau Island. It is a traditional festival celebrated over four days with parades, chinese opera performances, children dressing up, and culminating in a race up towers covered with buns. Whoever grabs the most wins. The children and I caught a ferry across to the Island to experience it for ourselves.
So did thousands of other people, so we didn't manage to actually see much unfortunately!
There was a carnival type atmosphere though with music, banners, people in traditional costume, and stalls selling souvenirs lining the streets.
We bought a box of buns...
and found a quiet spot in the sun to eat them.
