We visited Butterfly World yesterday and the children were amazed! The highlights were seeing a butterfly being 'born' - emerging from it's chrysallis - and when one landed on Emily's shoulder! Our favourite was the Blue Morpho whose colouring is both practical and beautiful. Here are some pics from the National Geographic website - outside it is a well camouflaged brown:

And inside a vivid blue - to frighten off predators, though that's what attracted us to it:

Robert enjoyed the bees and the tarantulas too, and there were snakes, fish, turtles, ants, beetles, scorpion and more. We'll definitely be back to explore again.
