Rise And Shine

As parents we want the best for our children.  We love and nurture them, provide opportunities for them to grow and develop, help their individual personality to emerge and encourage their natural talents.  We want them to be all they can be and to rise up, happy and confident in themselves and for their talents and personality to shine out and affect the world around them.  It struck me again recently that in order to foster this in our children we need to live this way ourselves too.  We can rise above the day to day practicalities of life and mainstream popular opinion and let our individuality, talents and creativity shine out.  I hope this blog will be a way for me to do this.  I love things handmade, vibrant, joyful, natural, beautiful, simple, cosy, tasty, gentle, thoughtful, unique...  I'll be sharing some of these things, both my own creations and many lovingly handmade by others.  You are welcome on this journey with me.  Rise and shine.
