A tree hug

We went to Treefest in Edinburgh's Inverleith Park this morning, and amongst the chainsaw carvings, axe throwing and homemade ale tents I stumbled across a few lovely craft stalls. I couldn't resist buying this needle felted brooch made at Garvald, a centre that provides support, training and employment in the creative arts, for adults with a learning disability.

It was also lovely to catch up with Amanda from Kitschy Coo who had a stall selling her gorgeous children's clothes which she handmakes to her own patterns with designer fabrics. I have to confess to owning a few of her tops, including these appliqued t-shirts:

I have had my eye on one of her fab reversible matinee jackets for a while. Unfortunately the said jacket was recently involved in an incident with a zipper and has come off slightly the worse for it, and as Amanda felt she could no longer sell it she has very generously given it to Emily! Thank you so much Amanda, it will get lots of love! Here's a customer appreciation pic for you:

As well as fabulous clothing you can get hold of Amanda's patterns and tutorials from her website, and her blog makes entertaining reading!
